Lorna Brissett-Roman

For close to 20 years, Lorna Brissett-Roman has been providing quality, authentic Caribbean cuisine to patrons across New Jersey. Prior to embarking on a path as a restaurateur, Lorna began her career as a customer service representative with World Airways, shortly after joining the team at Virgin Atlantic Airlines in the early 1980s.

During her time with Virgin Atlantic, Lorna quickly ascended the ranks and earned the position of Director of Customer Service, North America. Her corporate career only grew from there — she has held multiple executive leadership positions with American Express, Swiss Airlines, Air Jamaica, Continental Airlines (now United Airlines), and Thales Avionics, with her involvement in these Fortune 500 companies taking her on a journey around the world.

It was after the tragic events of September 11th that Lorna began to reevaluate her professional goals and decided to embark on the dream of entrepreneurship. In 2005, she opened the doors to her first Golden Krust restaurant in Newark, NJ. Since then, she has successfully launched multiple locations at Newark Liberty International Airport and Union, NJ.

One of Lorna's greatest sources of pride is not only knowing that for close to two decades she has been feeding New Jersey families incomparable, delicious meals — but that what started as a dream has enabled her to employ dozens in the community, contribute to families' most precious moments, and support the dreams of young people through college scholarships and sponsorship of various youth and church programs both in the USA and her native Jamaica.

Through it all, Lorna remains humble and a strong believer in Matthew 6:1–4 — giving quietly, without expectation of recognition, trusting that what is done in secret will be rewarded.
